We hope you love your warm floor and thank you for doing business with SunTouch.

Area of floor to heat: net square feet(required)

Measure the floor area you want to warm. Include places you walk or stand. Don't include bathtubs, showers, toilets, cabinets and other areas you don't want to heat. Enter the total heated area in the box.

Voltage available to the heated area: Volts(required)

Almost everyone has 120 Volt service in their homes. Typically, that power comes from your circuit or fuse box. Some people have very large rooms or special needs and they need a 240 Volt service. If you are in doubt, call your electrician.

Wire spacing: inches on center(required)

The WarmWire strap is designed to hold down the heating elements on 2, 2.5 or 3 inch centers.

  • 2 inch spacing: Rooms with high heat loss. Plan to use insulation below the floor if possible.
  • 2.5 inch spacing: The most common spacing for the most popular rooms: baths, kitchens, living and basements.
  • 3 inch spacing: Rooms with low heat loss or existing heat ducts like hallways or large areas.

Note: Never space WarmWire closer than 2 inches or farther apart than 3 inches.

Type of subfloor under the heated area:

Your subfloor is under your floor covering (carpet, tile, hardwood, etc.). This will most likely be either a wood framed floor (ie. floor above another floor or above a basement) or a concrete slab (ie. basement or first floor not over a basement). If your warm floor is going over a wood framed floor, even if your SunTouch is going over backerboard, cement board or a bed of mortar, select "Wood".

Cost of a KWH of electricity where you live: cents

KWH stands for kilowatt/hour. You will find this amount on your electrical bill. Please enter the value in cents. For example, if your bill shows the cost per KWH as $0.12345, enter 12.345. Most electrical service in the United States costs between 7 and 20 cents per KWH.
